Oprah Loves Zombies

Well, sort of. Generation Dead is on her recommended reading list, along with the spectacular book The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks by the very reputable E. Lockhart and a number of other cool books.

Check it out here.

OMG! You are like the total absolute king of writing! I love the little macarbe touch you add.... it makes your books fantastic! I mean....well, I don't know what I mean. I dream of the day the Kiss of Death will be out and read Generation Dead all the time! Seriously! I am so your biggest fan. I may not have been your fan for the longest, (2 weeks) but I am your biggest fan. You can post this message on your blog if you want, I really don't care if you do. No, I take that back. I would love it if you would. No, scratch that. I would be overly ecstatic if you did. I don't know. My whole life has been upside-down ever since I read your book. My mom was worried about buying me a book with the word Dead on it, so it has to be good. Trad and zombie peace 4-ever!

Hi MyBFFIsAZombie!

How could I refuse to post your ego-boo of a post? I don't think I'm quite ready to accept the "absolute king of writing" crown just yet, though--maybe I could be the "mercurial knave who works hard and sometimes hits a good groove". But only if I get a scepter. And pantaloons.

Take care,
Dan

Hi Vipasha!

Yes, she is quite famous.

Oddly enough, one of her early book selections was She's COme Undone. The author, Wally Lamb, is from my home town.

Strange...but true!!!!

Take care,
Dan

Hi Allison!

I should clarify--I don't think the book was actually on her show--just on her reading list.

But hey, I'm still honored!

Take care,
Dan

Haa. Oprah is silly. I love her. I mean really though, who wouldn't love a book about zombies? I've been pretty into them since the Zombie Survival Guide. It changed my life.. maybe not for the better, but whatever! I mean, who knows right? A zombie attack could totally happen.

Anyways, I recently heard about your book from the YABC site, and it sounds really interesting! I'm definitely going to have to pick it up next time I'm out. Seriously, It sounds really good..I've been in a "dry spell" with books lately.

Anyways, sorry for going off on a rant and good luck with everything! :]

DANIEL WATERS NEEDS TO MAKE A GENERATION DEAD BOOK 2!

Wow... I was actually rather impressed with that list. Normally the "recommended young adult reading" lists are... well...

Dry.

Dull.

Boring as hell.

Interesting, modern, GOOD reads! Way to go Oprah! And it's a thrill to see both you and another favorite author, Annette Curtis Klaus on there. Congrats!

And I agree with Ashley. *points above* Any further developments on a GD2?
